CARL SPRINCHORN (American, 1887-1971) “HUNT MOUNTAIN, WINTER 1951”. Oil on canvas winter scene shows blue water in the foreground leading to a series of low mountains, the water lined by tall trees. Signed bottom right. Signed in a fine carved decorated wood frame with gold and white border. Frame has an old label indicating it is From the Collection of Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Huntington. There are two labels on the backing board, one from the American Federation of Arts, New York and one from the Bates College Museum of Art having exhibited in both. A cutout on the backboard shows through to the date “1951”. SIZE: 28″ x 34″. CONDITION: very good. 9-94219 (40,000-50,000)
