BLAIKIE HINES (American, 20th Century) “THOMASTON HARBOR, MAINE”. Fine oil on canvas scene shows the Thomaston Harbor in the late 19th Century. A large three-mast schooner is moored next to buildings and is purported to be a rendering of the schooner Charles F. Hayer. Several people are on a large dock area with barrels and wagon. A nighttime scene with bright full moon reflects on the water and clouds and lights can be seen in the windows and on the ship. Housed in a fine replacement gilt molded wood frame. Signed lower left. SIZE: 20” x 30”. CONDITION: Some inpainting, probably retouched by the artist. Very good. 9-94536 (2,500-4,000)
