WARREN MCARTHUR BRIDGE TABLE WITH TWO SIDE CHAIRS. Circa 1930-1933. Los Angeles, California. Warren McArthur (American, 1885-1961). the square table with plank teak top raised on four pairs of green enamel tubular legs, each pair joined by three tubular stretchers, the whole joined by a tubular cross stretcher, all with molded decorative polished discs. The side chairs each with three brushed polished slats joined by green enamel tubular stiles above the trapezoidal upholstered seat with original cover raised on conforming tubular legs joined by a box stretcher. Table and chairs without label. Literature: Sarah Nicholes, ed., Aluminum by Design, exh. cat., Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, 2000, p.216-217 for similar examples. SIZE: Table: 29″ h. 30″ x 30 top. Chair: 34-1/2″ h of back. 17″ h of seat. 20″ w overall. PROVENANCE: From a fine Augusta, Maine estate. CONDITION: Table: Structurally intact, but in need of cosmetic restoration. Pair of chairs: Structurally very good, enameled surfaces with wear and light abrasion.
