SCRIMSHAW PAN BONE. Second half 19th century. Depicting the ships Guerriere, Constitution and an unidentified British ship, possible H.M.S. Java.. SIZE: 6″ x 10-3/4″. PROVENANCE: Robert Frederick Woolworth Estate, Monmouth, Maine. (F.W. Woolworth Store). CONDITION: With horizontal shrinkage crack in top quarter along a seam. Otherwise polychrome decoration of scrimshaw is intact and remains vivid. 9-23564 (800-1,200)
