ROBERT DUNCAN (American, 20th Century) “RIBBONS AND BOWS”. Egg tempera on board shows young girl facing the viewer in interior setting with three windows looking out onto a snowy landscape. A haunting image with a disfigured chandelier, a hanging clothesline with white slip and three empty hangers. A book is shown on window ledge with pages fluttering. Young girl wears white flowered shirt with lace collar and bow-tie ribbon and locket. Housed in a painted wood frame. Signed lower right “Robert Duncan”. Also titled, signed and dated 1976 “Morrill Maine” on back paper. SIGHT SIZE: 17-3/4” x 30-3/4”. CONDITION: Some surface grime, otherwise very good. 9-93814 (300-500)
