ALFRED CHENEY CHADBOURN (American, 1921-1998) THE KAISER. Large oil on canvas scene believed to be Kaiser Wilhelm II on horseback with another officer beside. He is adorned with all of his military regalia including spiked helmet, sword and medals. In 1888 Wilhelm II became the 9th King of Prussia and the 3rd Emperor of Germany. Signed lower right “A. Chadbourn”. Housed in a simple wood frame. PROVENANCE: From a Waterville, Maine collection. SIZE: 48” x 50”. CONDITION: Surface dirt and background paint drips. Good. 9-26909 (1,000-3,000)
