JAMES McKELL (American, 1885-1956) THE HOLD UP. Oil on board shows stagecoach being held up by several Indians on horseback. Stagecoach is drawn by four horses in which three men sit atop firing guns, also man with top hat shoots out window. Indians shoot with rifles and arrow. Nice colorful rendering. Signed lower right “James McKell”. Housed in a gilt carved wood frame. SIZE: 24” x 31-3/4”. CONDITION: One chip to center ground, otherwise very good. 4-48944 (800-1,200)
