*SPRINGFIELD KRAG MODEL 1899 CARBINE. Cal. 30-40. SN 288575. Standard carbine with 22” rnd bbl, pedestal front sight and ladder rear sight. It is mounted in a 1-pc walnut stock with grasping groove forestock and has 1899-style hand guard with hump. There is a legible 1900-dated cartouche on the left wrist. CONDITION: About fine. Bbl retains 93-95% dull original blue with light pinpoints of rust. Receiver, sideplate and cartridge box retain most of their original arsenal finish with some edge wear and dulling. Wood is sound showing much handling and wear with an old fill spot at the heel. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore. 4-52522 JR269 (800-1,200)
