FACTORY ENGRAVED BACON PIN MODEL 2ND MODEL NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 38 RF. SN 29. Blued finish, 7-1/2” oct bbl with crisp markings, dovetail blade front sight, standard factory engraving on both sides of frame, 2-pc smooth walnut grips. One of the first revolvers designed to use the first 38 RF revolver cartridges, circa 1861-62. Only about 400 were produced. Saw Civil War service as a few were purchased privately as a personal sidearm. CONDITION: Good. Traces of orig blue but most surfaces have patina enhanced. Grips are refinished. Bore is evenly pitted. Mechanically fine. 4-59314 JH84 (2,500-3,500)
