ALEXANDRE NIKOLAEVICH BENOIS (Russian, 1870-1960) THE BLUE GATE. Gouache on heavy blue paper winter scene shows a blue cast iron fence with large double door gate leading to snow covered ground with buildings beyond. A light post stands at the side of the entrance and a stone building with green shutters and outside park bench is on right side. Signed lower right and dated “1930”. Unframed. SIZE: Total is 16” x 19-1/2”. Painting is 15” x 18-3/4”. CONDITION: Generally very good. 9-90397 (6,000-8,000)
