ALBERT W. WEIN (AMERICAN, 1915-1991) “HOMAGE TO BELLA BARTOK”. A bronze statue of a stylized ‘Pan pipes’ player serenading a semi-nude seated woman, mounted on a stepped plinth. With the incised signature “WEIN Sc 1947″ above an incised copyright mark (C), ’87 5/12 and a foundry mark believed to be that of Luigi Tommasi, Piertrasanta, Italy. Our interpretation is that this is an original statue executed by the artist in 1947 and is an authorized limited edition restruck in 1987. SIZE: 15-3/4″ h. of statue. 19” overall h. CONDITION: The fine original chocolate-brown surface, no scratches or blemishes; the stone plinth on which it is mounted has a repair on one corner. 9-92715 (30,000-50,000)
