ATTRIBUTED TO HANS DAHL (Norwegian, 19th Century) SPRINGTIME FLOWER GATHERERS. Wonderful oil on mahogany panel scene shows springtime Norwegian fjord with a young woman barefoot on sandy path carrying a bundle of wild flowers. Another woman is seen at rowboat which is filled with bundles of flowers. A young man is seen resting on grassy bank smoking a clay pipe. Wooded lake side with mountains in the background. The mahogany panel has an inscription on reverse “Dahl”. Housed in a good gesso decorated period gold frame. SIZE: 16” x 25”. CONDITION: Very good with inpainting. 9-72236 (3,500-4,500)
