RARE EARLY PRODUCTION REMINGTON DOUBLE DERRINGER TYPE 1 FIRST MODEL. Cal. 41 RF. SN 61 or 19. Blue finish, 3” rnd superposed bbls, with rare markings on the side ribs, “MANUFACTURED BY E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, N.Y.” on the right bbl rib, “ELLIOT’S PATS 17. DEC 12, 1865”. Orig 2-pc smooth rosewood grips. This is one of less than 100 of initial production of this Type 1. Early production had rare variant markings as indicated. Serial numbers under 100, very rare. CONDITION: Good. Metal cleaned to bright with some light pitting remaining. Grips show minor handling marks. Bores have light pitting. Mechanically fine. 4-59447 JH82 (1,000-1,500)
