N. CURRIER (Publisher, 19th Century) A CHECK “KEEP YOUR DISTANCE”. Large color folio print shows man on horseback shooting at Indians on horseback. After a painting by A.F. Tait and lithographed by N. Currier, NY. Dated 1853. Print is housed in a replacement silver gilt molded frame. Label on back “The Old Print Mart, New York City”. REFERENCE: Conningham No. 1021. This print is the companion piece to “The Prairie Hunter”. SIGHT SIZE: 17-1/2” x 23-1/2”. CONDITION: An old repair to vertical tear from top edge to horses mouth, approx. 7” l. Otherwise good.
