LARGE FLINTLOCK LOCK.

LARGE FLINTLOCK LOCK. A large, very early lockplate complete with hammer & all the internals except the hammer spring. It also has a large frizzen and faceted pan and frizzen spring with spade shaped tip. The lockplate & hammer are completely flat and the hammer has a notch for a dog lock, which is missing. The lockplate, in front of the hammer, is marked “T. Gregory”. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Dark brown patina overall. Probably an old excavation with some moderate rust on the inside.
