ISIDORE JULES BONHEUR (French, 1827-1901) “LIONNE A L’AFFUT”. Bronze figure of a lioness in stalking position with right paw up, tail out and head down. Lioness is in a blackish bronze patina. Sloping base in naturalistic form is in brown patina and signed “I. Bonheur”. Base still has some plaster casting remnants. Unknown edition and issue date. SIZE: 7-1/2” h x 16” l x 4” w.
