PAIR OF SHERATON STENCIL AND PAINT DECORATED WASH STANDS. Mid 19th Century, New England. Each with a scrolled three-quarter splash-guard centering a rectangular top with circular receptacle for wash basin on turned cylindrical legs joined to a medial shelf, the apron fitted with a single drawer, the whole raised on turned cylindrical legs on ringed cuffs. Each in original dark brown paint with mustard and green stringing. The splash-guards with a stenciled decoration of a cluster of fruit. SIZE: 37″ h x 17″ w x 14″ d. PROVENANCE: Barbara J. Thornsjo Estate, Albion, Maine CONDITION: The original surfaces showing effects of dryness and wear to paint, structurally very good overall. NOTE: There is a slight discrepancy in size. 9-20808 (700-900)
