CLASSICAL MAHOGANY MARBLE TOP PIER TABLE. First quarter of the 19th Century, probably New York. The rectangular white marble top with outset corners above the conforming cabinet of figured mahogany with figured maple inlaid panels above a pair of white marble columnar supports with brass capitols and bases. The rear fitted with a rectangular mirror panel flanked by faux marbleized half columns with gilt metal capitols and bases. All above a figural mahogany medial shelf with concave front apron. The whole with gilt metal half round moldings raised on gilt decorated acanthus carved claw feet. SIZE: 37″ h x 41-3/4″ w x 19-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Cabinet with original surfaces, mirror plate, and backboards. The marble top original. Some veneer losses overall and shrinkage crack to shelf. Otherwise very good. 9-98673 (6,000-8,000)
