“THE DANCING MINSTRELS” WIND UP TOY. Circa 1900. This nice example comprised of a wooden crate in red paint with green trim simulating a stage on which are set 3 wooden jointed polychrome painted figures that all dance at the turn of a hand crank. SIZE: 17-1/2″ h x 18″ w x 10″ d. PROVENANCE: Barbara J. Thornsjo Estate, Albion, Maine CONDITION: Mechanisms still in working order, painted surfaces remain good. In need of minor restoration and cleaning. Lot accompanied by an article from Maine Antiques Digest, May 1985 illustrating a similar example sold in Litchfield, Massachusetts. 9-20833 (800-1,200)
