ARNOLD HOFFMAN (American, 1886-1966) EXODUS. Large oil on canvas mountain scene shows a line of traveling men, women and children. One man pulls a wagon with belongings and children while others have loaded backpacks. Probably a scene representing the plight of many Europeans at the onset of WWII. Signed lower right, “ARNOLD HOFFMAN, 1936”. Housed in a carved wood frame with gilt lining. SIZE: 33″h x 45″ w. CONDITION: Relined, minor in painting and restoration. 9-96309 (500-700)
