TAYLOR FUR GETTER SET GUN. Cal. 22 Short. SN 1065. All brass construction with about a 6” bbl with pinch blade front sight. This trap gun was used to kill fur-bearing animals such as fox, coyote and raccoon, as well as varmints. It was screwed into a log or block of wood and the long iron hook was baited, usually with a piece of meat. It was then loaded and left cocked so when the animal tugged on the bait, the gun fired and killed the animal. It is now outlawed for use in the United States. CONDITION: Extremely fine.
