ROBERT “SHOOFLY” SHUFELT (American, 1935-) “THE GAL-LEG BIT”. Fine pencil on paper shows a cowboy on horseback with attached lasso moving toward a wood slat fence. The horse pulls on the rope which extends beyond the image as the cowboy looks back at the tightening rope. Signed lower right, dated “2001” and titled above signature. Housed in a fine silver gilt molded wood frame with double matte and inner silver liner. Label attached to reverse from the Legacy Gallery, Scottsdale-Jackson Hole. The title derives from the figure of a ladies leg decorating the horses bit. This decoration was used by legendary Texas spur maker J. R. McChesney. SIZE: Sight: 18-1/4″ x 13-1/2″.
