FINE NEW ENGLAND GRAIN PAINTED CHEST WITH CUPBOARD TOP. Second quarter 19th century. This unusual example in mustard paint with dense striped grain painted decoration. The rectangular walnut and pine cupboard top with molded cornice above a pair of cupboard doors centering a concealed frieze drawer, set back on conforming pine and birch base fitted with three long drawers. SIZE: 54-1/2″ h overall x 41-1/2″ w x 18-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine home. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Grain painting also very good. Hardware replaced. 9-21751 (2,000-2,500)
