FINE NEW ENGLAND SHERATON CARVED MAHOGANY DRESSING MIRROR. Circa 1840. Possibly Boston. This unique dressing mirror in the form of a sideboard. The rectangular mirror plate within a string inlaid surround swiveling on blocked and spool-turned canted supports with urn form finials. The case fitted with three aligned drawers alternating with pilasters mounted with stamped brass rosettes above a central recessed bow front drawer flanked by “Bottle” drawers alternating with engaged turned half columns raised on turned feet. SIZE: h. 29-3/4″ x w. 28-1/2″ overall d. 9-1/4″ CONDITION: Professionally cleaned and repolished with rich color the brass knobs later replacements. The rosettes original 9-20222 (400-600)
