EARLY AMERICAN PINE AND MAPLE LADDERBACK HIGHCHAIR. Third quarter 18th century. Four curved slats joined to cylindrical stiles with mushroom finials, continuing to horizontal shaped and notched arms with rounded grips centering a trapezoidal woven rush seat. The cylindrical bobbin-turned legs joined to the rear legs by a double box stretcher. SIZE: 35-1/4″ h of back. 16-1/2″ h of seat. CONDITION: Completely refinished and restored. All structural elements appear original, with extreme wear to front stretchers, very pleasing overall. 9-27510 (250-350)
