EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (American 1896-1978) “MORNING BASS ROCKS”. Large oil on canvas scene shows waves crashing onto rocky coastline. A classic scene for this Rockport/Gloucester artist. A nice rendition of this popular spot. Signed lower left. Housed in its original green washed molded wood frame with white liner. Title and artist on back stretcher also date “1964”. Acquired directly from the artist. PROVENANCE: Accompanying the painting is the original typed receipt from Emile A. Gruppe Gallery dated July 2, 1964. SIZE: 25” x 30”.
