QASHGAI SHISHBOLUKI RUG, SOUTH PERSIA. First quarter 20th century. With three aligned pole medallions, each centering a polychrome crab medallion within alternating indigo and ivory grounds, all set on a red wine ground with dense geometric polychrome symbols, the dark brown main border of floral latticework within two sets of three narrow borders, characteristic of the Shishboluki Tribe. SIZE: 10′ 2″ x 6′ 6″. CONDITION: Strong colors throughout, the rug with low, but even, wear. 9-98325 (1,200-1,600)
