FRENCH INLAID ROSEWOOD PORTICO CLOCK. Second quarter of the 19th Century. The brass movement stamped “Medaille D’ Or pons 1827″ with the serial number “3065”. The rectangular molded cornice above the conforming frieze inlaid with scrolling vinery centering a shell, raised on columnar supports with brass capitols and bases centering a silvered dial with Roman Numeral chapter ring and time and strike apertures. Raised on a rectangular inlaid base joined to a plinth with concave molding terminating in suppressed feet.The interior of the drum housing and movement has, written in script, the name “M. Hottot 818”. SIZE: 19-3/4″ h x 10-1/2″ w x 6-1/2″ d. CONDITION: The case in good original condition, surfaces are slightly dry.
