ARTHUR PARTON (American, 1842-1914) OLD FARM HOUSE IN THE CATSKILLS. Large oil on canvas scene shows a 2-1/2 story Colonial home with rock wall, dirt driveway and large trees. There are clothes out on the line and window & door open airing out the house for spring cleaning. Signed lower left. Housed in its original magnificent gesso decorated gilt frame with wide gilt liners. NOTE: Possibly exhibited in 1881 at the National Academy of Design as No. 439. SIZE: 22″ x 30″.
