UNUSUAL GEORGE III CARVED MAHOGANY GAMES TABLE. Third quarter 18th century. The hinged folding rectangular top of plum pudding mahogany with molded edge above the conforming frieze fitted with a central drawer with cockbeaded edges raised on square tapered legs, the frontal legs with C-scrolled returns terminating in Marlborough feet. The rear legs hinged to support the table in the open position. SIZE: 29-3/4″ h x 31-3/4″ w x 16″ d. PROVENANCE: Bath, England. Shreve, Crump & Low Co., Boston, Massachusetts, February 1964 to the current owner. Original bill of sale and correspondence accompany lot. CONDITION: Professionally restored and repolished with nice patina showing restoration in area of hinges. 8″ splice proper right side apron at rear. Otherwise very good. 9-20781 (2,000-3,000)
