DELFT LOBED BOWL AND BLUE FAIENCE SERVING PLATTER. 2nd half 18th Century. The lobed deep dish or bowl, the reserves decorated with a seated female in a garden which conforms with the central octagonal panel and alternating with reserves of cross hatched leaf tips all in the underglaze blue in the oriental taste. The French platter attributed to Rouen and marked with “R” & “P” and the numerals “49” and “29”. All decorated in underglaze blue, the central panel depicting a romantic family scene within a country landscape all within a scrolling pierced and shell-carved border decorated scrolling foliate garlands. The handles shaped and pierced. SIZE: Bowl 2″ h x 11-3/4″ overall. Tray 12-1/2″ w x 17″ l. CONDITION: Bowl with foot rim and upper rim old chips and craquelure overall. The platter overall very good with some craquelure on underside and with minimal and minor glaze imperfections and flakes around outer edge. Very good overall. 9-21492 (800-1,200)
