SHERATON TIGER MAPLE CHEST OF DRAWERS. Circa 1840, probably New York. The rectangular top with architectural molded splashguard above the conforming case having a deep top drawer over three setback long drawers, all fitted with original glass hardware, the lower drawers flanked by engaged half columns continuing to a blocked apron, raised on frontal ring and baluster turned legs. The case end panels recessed. Splashguard, drawer fronts, and pilasters all in figured maple. The balance of the case in a red wash. SIZE: 57” h overall, 46-1/2” h of chest, 45” w x 21” d.
