THREE PIECE MILITARY LOT (MASSACHUSETTS LIGHT INFANTRY). Lot consists of: 1) A wonderful 6-1/2″ diameter painted wooden canteen in mustard paint with black edges. On one side in a cut corner rectangle, outlined in black and gold with bluish-green interior, has three initials “M.L.I.”, and on the other side a large “8”. 2) A 13″ long undecorated powder horn having a wood plug. 3) A 56″ long percussion musket, probably continental, possibly French or Belgian. Many of these muskets were imported to be used in the Civil War. The 21″ long bayonet is attached. Ramrod is also included. A true barn find. Sold as is. SIZE: As noted above. CONDITION: 1) Canteen has one leather strap holder missing, no stopper or strap. Some use wear, but generally very good. 2) Good, some roughness at end of horn. 3) As found. 7-70301 (1,500-2,500)
