ERNEST LAWSON (1873-1939) CONNECTICUT COUNTRYSIDE. Outstanding oil on canvas summer scene shows a foreground hillside with fence and rock ledge looking over to buildings surrounded by trees and grass covered hills. Beyond are lavender low mountains under blue & white cloud sky. Signed lower left “E Lawson”. Housed in a fancy French style frame with linen and gold liner. The frame having a gilt wood title and artist plaque. Attached to reverse is an Adams Davidson Galleries Washington, DC Exhibition tag. SIZE: 14″ x 18″. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine home.
