RILEY WHITING, CONNECTICUT TALL CASE CLOCK. First quarter of the 19th Century. The concave molded cornice projecting above the bonnet fitted with astragal arched door opening to a paint decorated wood face with spandrels of morning glories centering the dial with Arabic numeral chapter ring. Faux time & strike apertures and a sweep seconds dial with original wooden works and bell. The throat with canted corners, the door with serpentine top joined to a concave molded box base continuing to French cutout feet. The whole with original simulated string inlays and feather decorations. SIZE: 85″ h x 13″ throat w x 10″ d. CONDITION: Wooden works with restoration, dial with original untouched painted surfaces. The case with original surfaces and decoration, all in overall very good condition. Clock is sold with weights and pendulum bob. 9-20570 (2,000-4,000)
