FINE FOLK ART SCRIMSHAW POWDER HORN. First half 19th century, American. This nicely carved fanciful example profusely decorated with animals such as serpent, beaver, stag, birds, squirrel, etc. A willowy tree on right, behind which stands a hunter with bow and arrow. The base with fanciful scrolling devices. The horn fitted with a pine cap. SIZE: 12-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Structurally very good.
