AMERICAN MAHOGANY BANJO TIMEPIECE. Circa 1830, possibly Attleboro, Massachusetts. The case surmounted by a turned spire finial above the molded round door, opening to a enamel painted iron dial with Roman numeral chapter ring, and time only aperture. The eight day brass movement unmarked above the molded throat, with black and gilt eglomise glass panel, flanked by S-scrolled mahogany fillets above the square box base with molded door and eglomise panel. Clock offered with pendulum, weight and winder. SIZE: 32-1/2″ h overall. CONDITION: Original dial, the numerals paint heightened. Eglomise panels appear to have been repainted. Box base missing bracket. Otherwise very good. 9-27701 (1,000-2,000)
