PAIR OF CARVED DISPLAYED EAGLES. First half 19th century, New York. Carved from the solid, this dramatic pair rendered with arched necks, heads forward with open beaks, with swirling plumage, each on a rockwork plinth. SIZE: 25″ h x 40-1/2″ wingspan. PROVENANCE: Purportedly found in a Hudson River Valley court house. CONDITION: Generally very good with untouched surfaces and dark patina. 7-70003 (10,000-15,000)
