AMERICAN CONTINUOUS ARM WINDSOR CHAIR. Early 19th century, New England. This nine spindle example with shaped arms, joined to a shaped saddle seat, raised on splayed simulated bamboo legs, joined by a swelled H-form stretcher. SIZE: 34″ h of back. 17″ h of seat. CONDITION: With later surfaces, showing traces of early paint, the crest rail with old repairs at left and right of center three spindles. Also with repairs to elbows of rail at left and right.
