EDWARD H. BOHLIN SHOW SADDLE ENSEMBLE. Square skirted show saddle by Edward H. Bohlin, Hollywood, CA. Sterling silver mounted with dome conchos at corners. Edges decorated with alternating diamonds & California poppies. Faux flower carved on black leather. Shield mark reading “EDW. H. BOHLIN / MAKER / HOLLYWOOD, CAL.” in seat. Seat is 14″ and has Cheyenne roll. Sterling presentation plate “TEXAS-JIM-LEWIS” has been added to back of cantle. Later variation of the “Tim Holt” model. Bridle is round with silver ferrules. Conchos & faceplate marked “BOHLINMADE / CALIF. / HOLLYWOOD”. Sterling mounted bit is “RENALDI”. Leather & buckles are unmarked. Martingale is adorned with matching graduated conchos to bridle. Leather on martingale is also unmarked. Martingale also has central engraved heart. Double gun buscardero is marked on belt & holster with large shield mark. Front of holsters & belt are flower tooled. Buckle has the North & Judd anchor mark. Belt is 41″ overall length. Accompanied by a custom wooden saddle stand. PROVENANCE: David Crocker Estate Collection. CONDITION: Saddle is in very good condition with some age cracking at edges. Leather on bridle is fair and fragile in places and silver on all pieces show heavy cleaning with steel wool. Bit is well worn and the domes have been flattened. Leather on martingale is very poor and is heavily cracked. Gun belt rig is overall very good with no signs of damage. Saddle stand is fine. 4-36830 BJL8 (4,000-6,000)
