REMINGTON MODEL 1861 NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36 Perc. SN 19616. Blued finish, 7-3/8” oct bbl, dovetail cone German silver front sight, brass triggerguard, 2-pc smooth walnut grips. Standard two line markings on bbl, inspector marks on the frame, bbl, & cyl. although there is no cartouche on the grips. A large “C” is stamped on the right side of the frame under the grip. The consignor feels that this is a condemnation mark because of the cracked bbl. Cracks could have occurred at test firing. Gun shows use so nust have been sold to state militia or civilian market circa 1862. Good example of a reject. CONDITION: Fair. Smooth gray patina on iron surfaces. Grips have been revarnished over dents & worn spots. Bore is fair. Mechanically good. 4-59381 JH141 (1,000-1,200)
