MINIATURE PAINT-DECORATED TRINKET BOX. Early 19th century, New England. The rectangular box, with original leather hinges on lid. The original paint decoration of green panels with black and white striping within black borders. The lid interior similarly decorated. SIZE: 4″ h x 7″ l x 4-3/4″ d. CONDITION: Painted surfaces as noted. Small old loss adjacent to proper left leather hinge. Box with normal and expected paint losses, and with craquelure throughout. In very good untouched condition. 9-28516 (600-900)
