ANTIQUE SERAPE ORIENTAL CARPET. Circa 1890. The center a geometric polychrome poled medallion with salmon field, within the stepped diamond medallion profusely decorated with stylized flowerheads on a blue-black field, within ivory spandrels similarly decorated. The madder red main border with pale indigo, pink, and ivory saz leaves and polychrome flowerheads. SIZE: 12′ x 9’10”. CONDITION: This very nice carpet shows even wear overall, with strong foundation. Overall very good. 9-93212 (8,500-12,500)
