FINE PAIR NEW YORK FEDERAL SQUARE-BACK SIDE CHAIRS. Circa 1800. Each with stepped reeded crest rail continuing to reeded splats centering a pierced urn-form splat beneath a frieze of leaftips, joined to the trapezoidal overupholstered seat with bowed front rail, raised on square tapered legs joined by a recessed box stretcher. SIZE: Each: 36-1/2″ h. of back x 19″ h. of seat. CONDITION: Each retains original finish, dark chocolate brown. One with old repair to proper left stretcher and rear leg.
