MONUMENTAL CRADDOCK & REID ROUND SERVING TRAY DEPICTING THE FOUR SEASONS. Circa 1819-20 London. The wide wave scalloped edge decorated overall with carved foliate and floral design. The four masks representing the seasons set at opposing points around the edge; each flanked with “C” scrolls. Center overall with floral scrolling brightwork and etched cartouches and reserves all centering an armorial crest with the motto “Sans Changer” which is the Stanley Family Coat of Arms. The whole raised on four large scrolled feet. Bearing the hallmark “IC/WR” of Joseph Craddock and William Reid entered 1812. London hallmark with date mark of 1819-1820. Weight approx. 246 tr. oz. SIZE: 29-1/2″ dia overall. Tray is 26″ dia. CONDITION: Very good overall. Of the two reinforcing bands beneath the tray, one appears to be original with corresponding hallmark, the second may be a later addition applied to the first. 9-99012 (10,000-12,000)
