MEHL LAWSON (American, 1942-) “DIAMONDS AND DENIM”. Outstanding large bronze depicting a standing cowgirl next to her saddle and rope. She stands with lariat over shoulders wearing leather boots, fringed chaps and wide brim hat. Brown patina. Signed on base of bronze “Mehl Lawson CA 94”, also with title and “AP/5”. Mounted on a walnut molded edge wood plinth with brass plaque. Mehl Lawson is considered one of the most successful contemporary sculptors on the western scene today. SIZE: Bronze: 33″ h x 16″ dia at base. Overall with base 35″ h x 19″ dia. PROVENANCE: From a private New Hampshire collector. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-95348 (5,000-8,000)
