FINE SEMI-ANTIQUE SHIRVAN RUG. Late 19th century, Southeast Caucasus. Five aligned polychrome decorated diamond medallions with stepped borders on a blue/black field densely populated with crab and geometric medallions alternating with animal figures. The main crab border flanked by zig zag and snowflake guard borders in polychrome colors. SIZE: 5′ 6″ x 10′ 6″. CONDITION: With wear overall, commensurate with age. With strong vibrant colors, but with muted palette. Good to very good. 9-25129 (800-1,200)
