FINE MARMADUKE STORR MAHOGANY BRACKET CLOCK. Second half 18th century, English. The case with arched molded cornice above an astragal arched door on molded plinth, the sides fitted with brass carrying handles above oval glass panels, all on a molded plinth. The 7″ arched silvered brass dial with matte center with mock pendulum aperture, date aperture and time and strike apertures, all within a Roman numeral chapter ring within an Arabic chapter ring within cast brass floral scrolling spandrels. A strike silent dial within the silvered arch inscribed in script “Marm Storr London”. The twin train fusee movement striking on a single bell. Brass back plate decorated overall with scrolling brightwork. SIZE: 15″ h x 10-1/2″ w of case x 7″ d. CONDITION: Movement appears intact with replaced pendulum. Face and dial also appear original.
