FINE AARON WILLARD PRESENTATION BANJO CLOCK. First quarter 19th century. The case with circular painted dial surmounted by a gilt urn finial on pediment, the throat with eglomise panel decorated with flowerheads within a gilt border, above a displayed eagle with banner and shield, above the name “A-WILLARD JR” painted on a banner. The throat flanked by brass fillets. The box base with hinged door fitted with an eglomise panel depicting a harbor scene, above the fluted pendant applied with spherules and acorn finial. The brass movement marked “A WILLARD/BOSTON”. SIZE: 39-3/4″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine southern Maine collection. CONDITION: The case with original dry finish and gilding, original brass movement, dial, and eglomise panels. Panels with original paint, also dry with flaking. Weights and pendulum absent.
