ATTRIBUTED TO ROMARE HOWARD BEARDEN (American, 1911-1988) THE TIGER SCARF. Collage shoulder portrait of a woman wearing a wide brim green hat, tiger print scarf and green and brown shirt. The picture is made up of sections of prints and paper with some newsprint bleeding through. Unsigned. Housed in an antique gesso decorated frame with modern gray matte. The recent paper on reverse having a penned inscription “Romare did this one of mother and gave it to her for Christmas”. SIZE: Sight: 18″ x 14-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-96327 (3,000-5,000)
